1. Who I am

This website (roibenitez.com) is a personal professional website operated by Romina "Roi" Benitez. I am the data controller for any personal data collected through this site.

2. What I collect

This site collects very little. Specifically:

• Nothing from the newsletter. My newsletter is hosted on LinkedIn. If you subscribe, LinkedIn processes your data under its own privacy policy — I never receive or store your email address.
• Message content, if you choose to write to me directly by email.
• Analytics data, if you consent to it: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at this site. Collected via Google Analytics. Your IP address is anonymised.

3. Legal basis

I process personal data on two legal bases: legitimate interest, for responding to enquiries you send me; and your explicit consent, for analytics cookies. No analytics are loaded until you accept them. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 6).

4. Third parties

My newsletter runs on LinkedIn. Subscriptions, and the data attached to them, are governed by LinkedIn's privacy policy, not mine.

This site is hosted on Netlify, which may collect basic technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) as part of serving the site.

If you consent to analytics, this site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). This involves a transfer of data to the United States. Google participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and applies Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use LinkedIn's own unsubscribe controls.

6. Cookies

This site uses two kinds of storage:

• Essential (no consent needed). A single entry in your browser's local storage that remembers your cookie choice, so the banner doesn't reappear on every page. It contains nothing but "granted" or "denied".
• Analytics (consent required). Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*), used to understand how the site is navigated. These are not loaded at all unless you accept them.

There are no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking beyond the analytics described above.

To change or withdraw your choice: clear this site's data in your browser settings, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

7. Security

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any data I hold. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

I may update this policy from time to time. The date above indicates the last revision.
